canisters, quarter pound, found in a storm shed with other medical supplies. they believe they were part of a disaster supplies it can for a 200-bed hospital and that had been stored here for decades. the crate with the ether in it was marked 1957. >> because of the age of them, most of it was trashed, junk. in that process, there was a case of ether. and so, it is not something that you can throw in the trash. >> reporter: the plan is to keep it slow and steady and handle this correctly. you are looking live at the robot that is going to assist crews with getting this ether safely out of the way. four homes across from the fairgrounds are going to be briefly evacuated during the explosion. other neighbors were given notification. ether is flammable and they worry because its age it could be explosive. that's why they are handling it on the site better than

trying to move it. they say there will not any airborne hazards associated with this. they gave us an hour long warning, we expect the explosion 11:30. katie marzullo, abc7 news. suspended sheriff ross mirkarimi is about to learn whether he will keep his job. this afternoon the board of supervisors is set to vote on a recommendation to oust the sheriff who bruised his wife arm in argument. amy hollyfield has the latest. >> reporter: today in san francisco, the board of supervisors will be voting on whether ross mirkarimi will keep his job. mirkarimi was suspended as sheriff after pleading guilty to false imprisonment after an argument with his wife in which he bruised her arm. his wife is standing by his side, she thinks he should be able to keep his job. the mayor and advocates for domestic violence victims believe the board should vote him out of office. mirkarimi's attorney tells me

. in antioch several people have been hit in front of turner elementary school. eric thomas is there live. >> turner middle school is back there turner elementary, excuse me. the good news is no staff, no children were hurt. the wreckage is still here from the three people had were hurt and rushed to the hospital. that audi suv is what police say caused the accident. police say 8:00 this morning it sped through the intersection at speeds of up to 60 miles an hour. it then clipped a car trying to make a left at the intersection rolled over and over and struck a crossing guard on the corner.

her 11-year-old son nearbyby and a parent who just dropped off her student at turner school. they ended up in a position looks like they were critical condition a few feet away there was a witssary biby who saw what happened, got -- a witness nearby who saw what happened and got on the phone and called 911. >> i'm telling the disstager i don't think they are alive they -- dispatcher i don't think they are alive. horrible. >> two adults were lifeflighted to john muir. the 11-year-old son something going to be okay sorry there were injuries it would have been horrible and traumatic had students been in the streets or on the sidewalks when this accident happened. >> the superintendent says they have five grief counselors on hand at turner school in case some of the students saw or heard something or knew some of the

wearing a red prison jumpsuit was led into the courthouse looking thinner, after three months behind bars many found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of molesting 10 boys, today he was ed to between 30 and 60 years in state prison. before his statement today in open court, in which sandusky maintained his innocence and finally broke down, he released this audio statement last night. >> >> reporter: the recording aired on a penn state student-run radio station. >> his statement today was a master piece of denial, self-delusion, untethed from reality without acceptance or responsibility, entirely self-focused as if he again were the victim.
